Lake at Elephant Butte State Park

Stopped for a cold drink in Hillsboro before heading over
the mountains on route #152 to Silver City, NM

Lots of strange signs as start up the mountain

This road can't decide which way it wants to go

Looking at the road we just came up

Beautiful views at every turn in the road

We can see the different levels of road as we go up

We stopped at almost every pullout to see the views

Mountains as far as we can see and the road below

Bicycle rider followed us up the mountain and caught us at the
top due to  our many stops to enjoy the mountain views

Can see two levels of the road

At the top of Emory Pass at 8828 feet

The view from the top goes on forever  (10-13-06)

Starting down the other side of the pass  (10-13-06)

More of those funny signs  (10-13-06)

Rocky terrain on the other side of the pass  (10-13-06)

Rolling hills on the way down  (10-13-06)

Open pit Santa Rita copper mine 15 miles east of Silver City,
